Job Description

Aqualitas Inc. is a licensed cannabis producer, with our corporate Head Office located in Bedford, Nova Scotia, and our Production Facility located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia in the Region of Queens Municipality. We are committed to quality, sustainability and balance; in our products, our operations and our people.QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIANWe are currently seeking a skilled QA Technician at our production facility located in Brooklyn, Queens County, NS. Reporting to the QA Manager, you will actively contribute to and support the day-to-day efforts of the QA/QC Team across all departments at the facility.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining operations by strictly adhering at all times to company, industry and regulatory Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and reporting any required changes.
  • Maintaining QA databases for deviation, change control, corrective actions
  • Collecting, entering and analyzing data from, as well as inspecting and monitoring as required for, various departments (Packaging, Sanitation, , Cultivation), including:
    • Packaging re-work data
    • Finished product inspection
    • Trim Room monitoring
    • Drying sample collection and monitoring
    • AQL In-process Inspection
    • Excise stamp and shipping inspection
  • Reviewing data for deficiencies and working towards continuous methods to improve data management
  • Resolving deficiencies by following SOPs and consulting with QA Manager/QAP regarding incomplete documentation
  • Securing information by completing database backups in consultation with IT Technician
  • Providing appropriate documents to Post-Production team when needed
  • Additional QA tasks as required, including:
    • Packaging Room QA backup
    • Training staff on activities and deviations noted in the process
    • Conducting line clearances
    • Conducting swabbing on rooms and equipment
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times to protect operations and ensure customer confidence
  • Finished product Inspection
  • Site audit activities
  • Status Labelling
  • Sample collection and Monitoring
  • Cover other QA shift when required
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science or related manufacturing experience
  • Understanding sound quality assurance principles, statistical process control, sanitation
  • Familiarity with, micro swabbing and calibration of equipment
  • Good understanding of GPP/EU-GMP, HACCP
  • Experience with GPP/GMP Standards
Skills:
  • Accurate and efficient keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel software
  • Keen recordkeeping, editing and documentation abilities
  • Superior time management and organizational abilities to establish entry and daily task priorities
  • Comfort level working in groups or individually
  • Comfort level of working with groups to collaborate and communicate
  • Self directed to know the needed schedule day to day
