Chinook Community Forest is an equal Partnership between the local six First Nations and two Municipal Governments. The ownership structure was negotiated by all parties ensuring and equal voice and equal equity in the ongoing business/management of an area-based forest tenure and potential profits resulting from operating the Chinook Community Forest.Chinook is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the administration and finances of Chinook Community Forest.Administrative Assistant Job Description1) Respond to client inquiries electronically and/or by phone.2) Process account documentation paperwork and filing of documents.3) Help maintain general office tidiness.4) Prepare reports, memos, letters, and any other correspondence.5) Prepare reports and documents for meetings.6) Organize and arrange photo opportunities for the donation committee.7) Taking of meeting minutes at board meetings.8) Greeting visitors and answering phone.9) Running errands.10) Picking up office supplies and equipment.11) Preparing invoices.12) Communications –social media - Facebook, Instagram, Website, Newspaper & other platforms.13) Organize and arrange field trips with schools and other organizations.Administrative Assistant Skills & Qualifications1) Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft software.2) Written and Verbal Communication.3) Organization Skills.4) Flexibility.5) Attention to Detail.6) Social Media.Accountant Job Description1) Fact-checking accounting information.2) Recording all transactions.3) Ensuring all financial actions comply with legal requirements.4) Good data entry skills.5) Familiarity accounting principles.6) Accounts Payable, accounts receivable, banking, and filing for 2 companies.7) Monthly bank and visa account reconciliations.8) Update and file bank accountant statements and signatories.9) Complete staff/director payroll, ROEs, year-end T4s, month end reports.10) Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for Chinook Comfor Ltd and Chinook Comfor LP.11) Complete all filings for GST, WCB and monthly source deduction remittances on schedule.12) Complete year-end process and liaises with external accountants/ auditors, receiving and providing instructions and advice as necessary/required.13) Liaise with CRA on all matters relating to payroll or taxes.14) Liaise with other government ministries and agencies as required.Accountant Skills & Qualifications1) Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft software.2) 2 years minimum with Sage Accounting software.3) Financial transactions with accounts payable & accounts receivable.4) Strong understanding of math & numbers.5) Good understanding of general accounting principles and (GAAP).6) Strong data entry skills.7) Interpersonal skills to enable accountant to communicate with the General Manager clearly and effectively.This is a full time position with very flexible work hours.Chinook offers a competitive salary and benefits package that is negotiable on years of experience.Please submit your cover letter and resume via emailor drop it off at the receptions desk at Burns Lake Native Development in a sealed envelope addressed to Chinook Comfor before January 4, 2023.
