Your Opportunity with Michels CanadaAs the Environmental Coordinator you will assist in the coordination and maintenance of all Environmental Plans and compliance, education, and training programs. You will be a subject matter expert on all Michels Canada and project related Environmental Plans to provide support and guidance to the project construction activities.Your Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Perform environmental observations and audits with direction from the Environmental Lead and Environmental Manager.
  • Liaise with the client’s environmental representatives regarding any environmental concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the environmental impacts for the project while adhering to all regulatory requirements and project Environmental Plans.
  • Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly Environmental progress reports as required.
  • When required, deliver environmental education, awareness training and presentations to groups of people varying in size.
  • Assist in the development of site-specific environmental plans, including Environmental Management Plan; Waste Management Plan; Fugitive Dust Control Plan; Spill Prevention Plan; Hazardous Materials Business Plan; SWPPP; SPCC and/or others
  • Foster a relationship with the client by demonstrating a strong understanding of the client and project needs and participating in client meetings as required.
  • Track and evaluate Michels Sustainability Goals
  • Continuously acquire and develop knowledge of Michels HSE program, policies and procedures in order to provide guidance to field personnel and operations
  • Other duties as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Participation in an environmental training or certification program (Wetland, CESCL, FERC, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in the Environmental and on a pipeline construction project
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience and working knowledge of Provincial and Federal Environmental regulations in relations to pipeline installation
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team
