Reporting to the Senior Manager Group Emergency Response and Business Resilience (SMGERBR), you will support the SMGERBR in fulfillment of the Emergency Response Plan required under Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), U.S. Federal Regulations (FARs) and other required and appropriate sources. The Advisor, Emergency Response will directly support Emergency Response documentation, training, and readiness for the WestJet Group of Companies. Additionally, the Advisor, Emergency Response will coordinate all incident and accident response and Incident Command Group activations as documented in the Crisis and Emergency Response Manual for all air operator certificates under the WestJet Group of Companies.Role Accountabilities

• Maintain readiness of Emergency Response Incident Command Group and Go Team positions documented for WestJet, WestJet Encore and Swoop Air Operator Certificates.
• Develop and deliver Emergency Response training for WestJet, WestJet Encore and Swoop Air Operator Certificates.
• Prepare mock activation plans and tabletop exercises for all primary positions in the Crisis and Emergency Response Manual to identify program deficiencies as well as provide opportunities for continued improvement.
• Ensure that WestJet Group Emergency Response programs comply with TC regulations, IATA (IOSA) standards and US DOT Family Assistance Act requirements.
• Coordinate Station Response program requirements to support aircraft accident response in all WestJet Group airports.
• Support quality assurance reviews of the Emergency Response program for WestJet, WestJet Encore and Swoop Air Operator Certificates.
• Coordinate Emergency and Crisis Response for WestJet, WestJet Encore and Swoop Air Operator Certificates.
• Update Crisis and Emergency Response Manual annually.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Emergency Management or Emergency Response Planning certificate is considered an asset
• At least three years airline operational experience
• At least three years Safety Management Systems experience
• Experience in an Emergency Response program including manual development is preferred
• Incident Command Systems (ICS) training preferred
• NTSB Transportation Disaster Assistance workshop training preferred
• Strong understanding of Emergency Response requirements under the Aviation Disaster Assistance Act and Foreign Air Carrier Support Act.
