We made air travel more affordable for Canadians and now were going global.Join us and love where you’re going.As WestJet’s Advisor, Safety & Security Promotion you will partner with corporate support and operational teams to lead the identification, design, development and implementation of interactive safety cultural initiatives which may include programs, events, communications or other activities. Additionally, with consideration to strategic cultural priorities and framing, it’s your responsibility to support the corporate safety team and operational business units in developing, managing and communicating safety standards, plans, reports, policies, and procedures which includes Transport Canada-regulated safety program documentation. This role supports WestJet, WestJet Encore, and Swoop.Occasionally this position requires travel and the ability to work non-standard hours.Key deliverables include:

• Identify, design and implement activities, communications, active and passive programs, events and other initiatives aimed at fostering the WestJet Group’s safety culture in partnership with corporate support and operational teams.
• Complete all phases of development and update of controlled and uncontrolled corporate safety program documentation to ensure ongoing regulatory and best-practice compliance and overall continuous improvement.
• Provide support and guidance to safety management working groups and other identified safety committees including administrative tasks and the provision of subject matter expertise to guide decisions, plans, and initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with business leaders across the WestJet Group to prepare for and provide administrative support to the monthly Safety Management Committee.
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Safety Programs that support the ongoing development of WestJets safety programs, standards, training and culture.

Your Qualifications

• Self-starter with a strong sense of creativity, and a passion for safety
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, with a background in technical documentation management and organizational communication
• Knowledge of safety culture drivers
• Intermediate MS Office use, web design and development
• Strong verbal and written communication with significant attention to detail
• Event planning
• Project management
• Previous experience in creating engaging, meaningful, interactive content for safety programs
• Critical thinking
• Understanding of regulatory framework governing corporate safety programs
