At Swoop, our-day-to-day operations are vastly different and deliberately separate, but carefully aligned to complement the big-picture strategy of the WestJet Group.The Advisor, Training Delivery is responsible to meet the Transport Canada regulatory requirements to maintain the Swoop Operating Certificate (AOC) as it relates to Flight Attendant training, Flight Attendant qualifications, and training equipment (cabin trainers, etc.), of Swoop Flight Attendants and instructors.*This position is available for remote work within Canada* Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), and Flight Attendant Training Standards (FATS);
  • Monitor to ensure that all training equipment is maintained/ordered to meet Transport Canada standards;
  • Schedule and monitor all Flight Attendant training as per Crew Member qualifications/due dates;
  • Ensure consistent and accurate application of all Training Programs as set forth by Transport Canada and Swoop;
  • Ensure the facilitation of training programs is in accordance with regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures and the Swoop brand;
  • Coordinate and identify Inflight Training requirements;
  • Responsible to maintain all Inflight Instructors qualifications as per regulatory requirements and that all records are audited to ensure compliance;
  • Evaluate delivery of training programs and Inflight Instructors’ performance;
  • Responsible for performance management within training classes in coordination with Base Leadership;
  • Develop a high performing and accountable Inflight Training team through coaching, mentoring, and training;
  • Apply quality assurance principles to training audits to ensure compliance and quality of all programs and records;
  • Evaluation, development, and implementation of Flight Attendant training devices required for Flight Attendant training (training equipment, cabin trainer and teaching aids);
  • Ensure that a flexible training calendar is maintained and that it reflects our business requirements and schedule;
  • Act as an Inflight Instructor, if required;
  • Adhere to all Safety Management Systems (SMS) and implement corrective actions to eliminate or manage departmental risks;
  • Assume any responsibilities delegated by the Team Lead, Training.
Qualifications:
  • Past airline experience mandatory.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related management experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred; however, a combination of training / adult facilitation experience will be considered.
  • B737 training experience is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of CARs, CBAACs, the Flight Attendant Manual Standards, Flight Attendant Training Standards, and other Transport Canada related documents.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships in and across team.
  • Must excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of motivation and commitment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet work schedules, standards, and deadlines in an ever-changing environment.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in PC applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point).
  • Superior communication and analytical skills with a solid understanding of process flow, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Must certify as a Swoop Flight Attendant and fly as required.
  • Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • 24/7 on-call rotation required.
  • Ability to travel.
