As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.Position Title: Benefits SpecialistTeam and Location: People & Culture - Calgary, ABPosition Summary:Reporting to the Manager, Benefits & Occupational Health Services, the Benefits Specialist is a fully qualified member of the Canadian Benefits Team. In this role, they are responsible for the independent administration, analysis and governance of the benefits and non-occupational disability programs for Parkland Canada. This person is a superb communicator, curious change champion, and a technical expert in analytics and system interface between Parkland and our benefit vendors.Key Responsibilities:Play a key role in policy harmonization across Canada (resulting from Mergers & Acquisitions) and assist in the development of centralized support & administration for Parkland’s benefits offerings. Including process development, documentation and communication plans, as well as fulfilling the senior implementation ambassador role.Guiding the outsourced administration of Parklands group benefits offerings including onboarding, annual open enrolment, life events, offboarding and Tier 2 employee support.The subject matter expert with data feeds between Parklands HRIS/Payroll (Ultimate) system and various vendors interfaces and billingsSteward the short-term absence salary continuance, long-term disability and return to work programs. Including employee, manager and third-party engagement as well as full cycle administration and metric reporting.Take the lead on the offboarding and reboarding Parklanders with their non-occupational leaves such as Maternity, Paternity, Leave of AbsenceSupporting role with modeling and cost projections for benefit budgets and related rates renewal, reporting and communication.Key contributor, project manager and process owner for a handful of legacy benefit plans and offerings across Parkland’s diverse Canadian union and non-union population.Other duties as assigned from time to timeTravel may be required but not significantQualifications and Skills:A resilient ‘can-do’ attitude and work ethic, ability to excel in a dynamic environment with a collaborative professional persona.Ability to operate independently and to explore ambiguity with a solution-oriented mindset.Strong communicator with high degree of customer service and change management skillsLanguage skills in French is an asset.8+ years of relevant experience in flexible benefits program administration and disability plan administration.CBES obtained or in progress, or similar certification is an asset.Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical manner.We Offer:Our Performance-based Annual Incentive Plan, an annual bonus awarding your performance.A share in our success through the Employee Share Purchase Plan and 100% company matching.A flexible group benefit plan that offers health and dental coverage choices to meet the needs of each unique employee.
