Job Description

Main Purpose:We require an accomplished business analyst with in-depth experience of providing detailed analysis and of supporting complex applications in the area of Trade Finance and Credit. Within this role, the candidate will be in charge of :

  • 50% allocation to 3rd line production support
  • 50% allocation to analysis tasks such as understand and verify business cases for change, complete business process analysis, and define business and functional requirements.
The candidate will manage relationships and expectations with business stakeholders, sponsors and support and direct development & test teams, both internal and third party, throughout the entire delivery lifecycle.Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:Key ResponsibilitiesProvide support to end-users on Trade Finance and Treasury management systems.Act as a bridge between the business and IT, and responsible for determination/ documenting requirements and sharing them with worldwide audience for one or more of the financing, credit and corporate funding business areas (Trade Finance, Credit Risk, Securitisation, Corporate Funding)Stakeholder management to ensure the solution meets business requirementsClose engagement with business stakeholders, acting as the requirements authority (the source of truth) when clarification of the business requirement is required.Work closely with the Back Office Area Lead BA and Lead BA to determine the initiatives and features required to deliver programme objectivesWork with the functional architecture and business analysis teams to determine the design of a solution, including screen design & usabilityKey point of functional escalation for technical and QA teams during requirement development & testingQuality assurance of any technical requirements produced by off-shore teams against business requirements produced through business engagementsSupport change management and training teams to prepare business stakeholder for process and functional change.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEssential:Proven ability to act as a bridge between the business and development team located in other offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementableExpected to have 7+ years’ experience of requirements analysis or support in a physical commodity-trading environment.Expected to be have domain knowledge in several of the following areas:Trade Finance (risk management and money market instruments)Corporate Funding (cash management and internal loans)Derivative trade settlementStructured Trade Finance (counterparty loans)Counterparty credit riskCredit InsurancePhysical Trading (purchase and sales invoice settlement)Experience of some of the System solutions that support the following:Physical Trading and Risk Management (e.g. Openlink or Allegro)Derivative Trading and Risk Management (e.g. Murex)Credit Risk Management systems (e.g. CRisk)Treasury Management (e.g. Quantum)Reporting (e.g. Business Objects or QlikView)Additional experience in migrations and interfaces with other systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong academic background – excellent degree from a top tier university is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulationBroad knowledge of commodities trading, ideally for physical commoditiesResponsibility for taking full ownership of any issues reported by the business users till complete resolution even if it needs to be engaging different teams for resolutionExperience of working in a high volume, time critical environmentDocumentation of issues and workaroundsKey Attitudes / Competencies:Able to plan, track and direct activities through to completionDelivery focusedDevelop and maintain close relationships with business and IT stakeholdersTeam workerGood communicator, engaging and able to work with offshore teams across various time zonesAbility to make decisions & thrive in a fast paced environmentKey Relationships:Close relationships with business stakeholders and key usersOther business analysts, functional and solution architects, developers, project managers and technology partnersTesting and training groupsKey Relationships and Department Overview:Trafigura is committed to building and maintaining world class IT applications and infrastructure.
