Our inclusive culture is critical to P2’s success in building a firm that hires, develops, and retains extraordinary people.Responsibilities & Qualifications: The Database Administrator is a mid-level professional serving on a team responsible for the installation, administration, and management of Oracle/Linux and SQL Server/Windows based application environments. They have a basic understanding of systems administration and networking concepts. They are responsible for installing/upgrading P2 applications and their dependent technologies in P2 Cloud, on-premises, and for internal customers. They also provide L2-L3 technical support for these same groups.*Duties & Responsibilities: *

• Install/upgrade/support P2 applications and their dependent technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, IIS, Apache, OAS, WebLogic, Glassfish, etc.) for P2 Cloud, internal, and on-premises customers
• Perform database maintenance activities for technologies P2 applications are dependent on (start/stop scripts, generate stats, integrity checks)
• Isolate and identify performance, availability, and security issues as they are occurring, providing L2 support as needed for internal and external customers
• Automate processes to support daily operations of the P2 Cloud service
• May include any of the following areas in Oracle and SQL Server:
• Query optimization
• Database performance management and tuning
• Multiple database backup and recovery mechanisms
• Data modelling
• Azure/AWS infrastructure deployment

• Administer/publish Citrix applications for P2 Cloud customers
• Respond to and action timely from P2 Cloud monitoring alerts
• Keep ticketing systems updated as items are being worked
• Provide timely feedback to customers and colleagues
• Maintain wiki documentation about P2 managed application environments, client-specific customizations that are non-standard and specific operating procedures as they evolve
• Provide support for the change management and audit processes
• Hold on-call responsibilities for P2 Cloud
• Support and maintain availability SLAs for P2 Cloud
• Relies on a combination of experience and judgment with specific direction to plan and accomplish goals

*Technical Ability: *

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiar use of tools like tcpdump, wireshark, Windows SysInternals, tkprof, etc.
• Able to solve problems quickly with strong desire for root cause analysis
• Expertise on multiple backup strategies on physical & virtual environments
• Comprehensive understanding of Database Administration best practices
• Practical application of system admin and networking understanding
• Well developed scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Bash
• Basic programming skills in PL/SQL and/or TSQL

*Qualifications: *

• Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent combination of related education and experience
• 2-10 years experience in an Oracle environment
