Overview:We are looking for a talented individual at the Consultant/Senior Consultant level to join KPMG’s Forensic Technology and eDiscovery management team in Calgary. The successful individual will be driven, and results oriented, with a strong focus on client relationships. Let’s do this.KPMG Forensic provides assistance to corporations, governments, lawyers, and others through providing litigation support, eDiscovery, information management, cyber-security services, quantification of damages, investigations into fraud and other inappropriate actions, review of insurance claims, and other similar assignments.Our Forensic Technology team is made up of certified Computer Forensic experts, eDiscovery consultants, information technology and security specialists, former police officers, lawyers and litigation support professionals.What you will do:Participate & contribute on specific client engagements which may includeForensic imaging and collection of electronic data;Execution of Court Orders such as Anton Pillers;Initial review and culling of data for E-Discovery matters;Analysis of digital media and subsequent reporting of findings; andData recovery.Assist in investigations with information technology (“IT”) components;Securing of digital evidence with the use of disk imaging techniques and preserving chain of custody;Recovery and analysis of digital evidence;Configure, test and maintain forensic support tools in a forensic laboratory environment;Provide advice to team members and clients on proper data recovery steps and procedures;Develop links within the organization that can contribute to KPMG thought leadership;Build and maintain excellent relationships with existing and target client organizations;Develop excellent relationships with colleagues in other areas of the firm.KPMG Forensic Technology Advisors may find themselves working on several engagements at any one time, reporting to several partners. Experience has shown that the requirement to travel in Canada or internationally on short notice will arise, possibly for extended periods.What you bring to this role:Bachelors or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience;2-5 years’ experience practicing computer/digital forensic investigations, eDiscovery, investigation and litigation support work;Strong understanding of Microsoft and Apple operating system;Strong understanding of mobile device preservation and related analysis for Android, Apple and Blackberry devices. Experience with Cellebrite, Oxygen or other mobile device preservation and analysis software;Fluency working with at least two of the following software tools: NUIX, Encase, X-Ways, FTK, AXIOM;Experience working in a fast-paced project environment under tight timelines and varying hours of work;Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address client needs;Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and French, including ability to develop and deliver presentations, lead interviews, and facilitate client workshops;Strong writing skills, including ability to develop detailed technical reports and executive summaries;Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and comfortable with receiving and providing feedback;Proven relationship development and management skills with demonstrated ability to interact, establish credibility and engender trust with a wide range of professionals across all levels;You will be required to undergo a criminal record check and obtain a Secret level security clearance;Ability to travel on short notice for 1-7 days may be required;Ability to lift 50 lbs (Forensic Field Kits).Our Values, The KPMG Way:Integrity, we do what is right | Excellence, we never stop learning and improving | Courage, we think and act boldly | Together, we respect each other and draw strength from our differences | For Better, we do what mattersKPMG in Canada is a proud equal opportunities employer and we are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and barrier-free workplace that allows all of our people to reach their full potential.
