Job Description

We made air travel more affordable for Canadians and now were going global.Join us and love where you’re going.Reporting to the Employee Support Manager, the advisor is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local leaders and teams to support the consistent delivery of employee programs which includes, but is not limited to performance management, disability management, employee relations, and health and wellness programs.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with People Relations to interpret WestJet people related procedures, policies and best practices
  • Responsible for daily review of missed time to ensure follow up with agents to validate reason for missed time, including conversations around STD, LOA, and all other leaves and identify to Workforce Team proper coding for any missed time
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, responsible for reliability follow up with employees and ensuring that department leadership is updated on individual and team performance and trends.
  • Provide support to leaders by arranging, preparing and attending meetings for any investigative interviews where reliability performance management or progressive discipline may be an outcome.
  • Responsible to ensure all injury investigations and documentation including HOIR’s and WCB/WSIB forms are completed correctly and within required timelines.
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, responsible to report on injuries, root cause and CAP’s at all OSH meetings and to provide support to OSH initiatives.
  • Primary contact for employees requesting leaves of absence and responsible to work with other departments on all aspects of approved leaves
  • Responsible for coordination of return to work programs as well as for any other departments with employees placed at the airport. This includes providing duties and schedules in compliance with modified agreements.
  • Work in collaboration with the People Department to develop and execute accommodation requests and to monitor these on an ongoing basis
  • Review performance and provide feedback to leaders with respect to patterns and trends and support Performance Management meetings with managers as required
  • Work closely with People Relations to assist in responding to employee questions around company policy and programs as it relates to the employee experience
  • Responsible to monitor and engage leaders on agent learning completion
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of operational experience preferred
  • Two or more years leadership experience including performance management and ability management required
  • Solid track record of building relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to plan, develop and lead meetings
  • Previous experience in conducting investigations on performance issues
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in a professional positive and constructive manner and perform steadily under pressure
  • Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to self-manage and able to work flexible hours
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
