With backing from prominent investors, were poised to revolutionize the Canadian airline industry.Join our team and be part of the changing skies of Canadian aviation!WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:The Finance Department is seeking a Financial Analyst to join a seasoned accounting team. The ideal candidate is energetic, hands-on, and ideally a CPA.The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing account reconciliations which contribute to maintaining the quality and integrity of key financial systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about connecting operational details to the financial impact to the organization. The position is eligible for professional development in other areas such as budget to actual spending analyses and aiding in the preparation of budgets and projections.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:The position requires an overall ability to perform account reconciliations. Specific duties will evolve over time and there will be opportunities for development into other areas such as budget to actual spending analyses and aiding in the preparation of budgets and projections:

  • Month end close processes, including but not limited to review and analyses of account balances, creating and posting journal entries, and preparing monthly reconciliation of various accounts
  • Subledger reconciliations including accounts payable and fixed assets
  • Reconciliation of Canada Revenue Agency accounts including GST, payroll, fuel tax and Canada Border Services Agency remittances
  • Bank administration including preparation of bank reconciliations, bank account set ups, troubleshooting bank issues
  • Preparing account reconciliations for payroll accounts such as vacation accruals, savings account matches, remittances, benefit contributions and deductions
  • Troubleshooting accounts payable, vendor reconciliations and credit card payment issues
  • Invoicing ad hoc customers and following up on collections
  • Working with the Commercial and Operations teams to identify trends, researching, compiling and interpreting statistics for the purpose of improving the operational efficacy of the organization
  • Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
  • Professional designation preferred (CPA)
  • Proficiency using MS Excel to support reconciliation process
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian financial regulations and standards
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
