We made air travel more affordable for Canadians and now were going global.Join us and love where you’re going.Remote Work:This position is eligible for remote work, within Calgary, under our mobile workforce program.Reporting to the FP&A Finance Manager, this role will be a resource for the Financial Planning & Analysis Team to collect and analyze financial information on behalf of the Financial Planning & Analysis Team. As part of your role, you will evaluate and prepare financial forecasts, budgets, performance reporting as well as other financial information that help these teams achieve their business objectives.Responsibilities:Financial Analysis & Monthly Reporting

• Work in collaboration with various Project Managers to develop, understand, and apply key cost drivers to budgeting and forecasting
• Work in collaboration with Accounting teams to understand accounting treatment of various projects (ie. capital vs. operating expense) and be able to easily toggle to between total project costs
• Coordinate how budgets are allocated between projects and business units depending on required resources (contract resources vs. permanent FTEs)
• Partner with Accounting to ensure monthly accruals are accurate and adequately reflect key milestone payments and contractor start dates
• Create financial reports and provide insightful analysis and recommendations which includes expense variance analysis vs. budget and forecast
• Track and analyze key performance indicators for the departments
• Influence spending and allocate corporate discretionary spend by providing a financial portfolio view of strategic investments
• Model and evaluate business cases, projects and other initiatives
• Interface and maintain connectivity with your business partners

Other

• Assist in special projects including implementation, testing and other ad hoc financial analysis
• Be an active member of the Finance team; willing to mentor and coach peers, brainstorm issues, complete ad-hoc requests, and be flexible in completing any task
• Be a centralized point of contact for ongoing Projects Reporting - budgeting and forecasting
• Within this role, it will be expected that you come to the office 2-3 days / week.

Qualifications:

• Completion of post-secondary education
• 3-5 years of experience in a financial planning or financial analysis role
• Ability to analyze business results, identify, summarize and resolve key issues
• Financial modelling experience would be an asset
• Enthusiasm to partner with the business with a focus on providing decision support to help them reach their departmental objectives
• Possess strong presentation and communication skills to help translate data and analysis into insights and actions
• Attention to detail, organized and keen desire for continuous improvement
• Ability to handle pressure and work independently to meet tight timelines in an environment with a high volume of activity
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• High functional use and understanding of MS Office, including Office 365, Excel (Pivot Tables/Charts), and PowerPoint
• JDE, Hyperion, and PowerBI experience would be an asset
