The Health Care Aide is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for providing direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the resident and indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area.Some of the primary responsibilities include: Demonstrating awareness and understanding of the resident needs; observing and reporting unusual signs/symptoms and incidences to the profession al nursing staff; Providing timely information to the supervising professional regarding observed changes in physical, mental or emotional status/behaviour of the residents; Participate in the care Plan for the resident; Recognize challenges related to vision, hearing, speech and language and adapt practice to minimize these challenges; Documenting all care provided and behaviours noted on the appropriate forms and in the Point of Care (POC) system; Promoting a healthy and safe practice environment – recognizing safety issues and reporting them immediatelyPlease note you need to be comfortable working within a Covid-19 Positive site.
