We’re currently seeking an Intermediate Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in Calgary, AB.You will take ownership of preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates. You will be involved from the early planning stages through to bid submission, playing a critical role in how we pursue and win new projects. Your insights will directly influence project strategy and delivery.Ready to be part of a collaborative and driven team Apply now to take the next step in your estimating career.Key Responsibilities:Estimating and Cost Analysis

• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and material/labour cost analyses for all construction scopes.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare cost summaries, cash flow projections, and scope breakdowns for internal review.
• Participate in design development pricing and preconstruction planning.

Trade and Vendor Coordination

• Issue RFQs and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Review, compare, and level subcontractor bids to determine accuracy and compliance with scopes.
• Maintain and update a database of historical cost data, vendor rates, and productivity benchmarks.

Bid Preparation and Submission

• Participate in bid reviews and pricing strategy meetings.
• Assist in preparing final tender submissions including pricing breakdowns, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Ensure all documentation is accurately compiled, reviewed, and submitted before deadlines.

Internal Collaboration

• Work closely with the Estimating Manager, Project Managers, and other team members to validate project requirements and approaches.
• Support handoff meetings by providing scope narratives, pricing breakdowns, and documentation.

• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in estimating in the ICI, institutional, or residential construction sectors.
• Proficient in estimating and take-off software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, OST, or similar).
• Familiarity with Jonas, Procore, or similar project management platforms (asset).
• Thorough knowledge of current market rates, materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
