We made air travel more affordable for Canadians and now were going global.Join us and love where you’re going.Remote Work:This position is eligible for remote work, within Canada, under our mobile workforce program.The Manager Inventory Planning & Control provides leadership and direction to the Inventory Planning & Control team and sets and implements the inventory strategies for the corporation. They drive a continuous improvement process around internal guest service, inventory investment, and KPI performance.The primary goal is to support WestJet’s global material needs with the right part at the right place at the right time at optimal cost through both dedicated and shared resources in 30 locations across the network.Responsibilities:Strategic

• To provide overall leadership to the Inventory Planning & Control team by providing guidance, coaching through barriers / challenges along with celebrating milestones / achievements.
• Champion inventory management initiatives for WestJet and Encore on behalf of the global Materials team and Tech Ops.
• Benchmark and set the long-term strategic direction for inventory management to ultimately attain best in class inventory cost and service performance.
• Set inventory policies and guidelines and drive actions to optimize inventory investment and the supporting processes across WestJet and Encore for both Technical and Corporate inventory.

Operational

• Develop and report KPI performance measures that are appropriate to the internal guest (with line of site to external guest – SPOT) and perform ongoing root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Meet with cross-functional leadership and teams to resolve issues and continuously improve complex supply chain processes.
• Hold quarterly business reviews to ensure that action plans are meeting BU’s required service levels.

Budget & Costs & Contracts

• Develop quarterly and annual inventory purchase plans, budget recommendations and inventory allocation plan across the entire network of bases to support Tech Ops fill rate targets and SPOT.
• Manage inventory plan budget.

Leadership

• Develop departmental level objectives for the Inventory Planning team and co-develop individual objectives with direct reports.
• Provide training, mentorship and leadership to team members to ensure that departmental objectives are met.

Audit

• Develop, maintain and oversee a financial and regulatory audit & compliance process for the inventory across 30 inventory bases.
• Investigate and rectify any discrepancies or regulatory non-compliances and perform root cause analysis and corrective action to prevent recurrence

Requirements:

• 6 - 10 years operations experience including inventory management and customer service.
• 3 years management experience
• Ability to build and maintain a strong local team within a dispersed national team environment
• Strong internal/external guest focus.
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently and with remote staff.
• Technical airline knowledge and experience is preferred
