Since 1993, CDC has been providing patients and health care professionals with advanced diagnostic imaging of the body’s most important organs and systems.CDC offers MRI, CT, Ultrasound 2D/3D and 4D real-time, Mammography, Pain Management, Bone Densitometry, Fluoroscopy, X-Ray and Kids Imaging services across 16 community clinics in Calgary, Edmonton, Okotoks and Sherwood Park.Nuclear Medicine Team LeadPassionate about Exceptional Patient Care Look no further!CDC is looking for a talented Nuclear Medicine Team Lead to work in an organization delivering exceptional patient care in the communities we serve by focusing on our core values.We are CompassionateWe are ProfessionalWe have IntegrityWe are a TeamWe are LeadersThe Nuclear Medicine Team Lead (NMTL) is a working supervisor who is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures that meet the standards set out by the Medical Director, as well as supervision of staff technologists at the clinic. This position ensures daily department workflow is maintained with the highest standard of patient care and efficiency.This position is responsible for working shifts as assigned between Monday to Friday.Hours will be casual upon hire until August 2022, when opening tasks ahead of the launch of this exciting new venture will take place. Hours from August onwards are expected to be full time.What the role entails:Team Lead duties:

  • Support development of Nuclear Medicine department standard operating procedures, quality assurance, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure fulfillment of all CPSA accreditation requirements for Nuclear Medicine, and full compliance of the department with national nuclear regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are being complied with and carried out efficiently.
  • Ensure that staffing levels and RIS modality schedule templates are consistent.
  • Act at primary liaison for CDC with:
o. nuclear medicine equipment provider for imaging and workflow optimization, routine maintenance, and service;p. radionucleotide provider for determination of supply needs;q. with the Director of Nuclear Medicine (physician), for matters related to staffing and operations of the department.
  • Accommodate requests from radiologists and inform staff technologists of radiologist requests and protocols.
  • Liaise with administrative staff and other departments to maintain excellent patient care and efficiency of department operations.
  • Supervise technologists and provide coaching and constructive criticism as appropriate. Performance-manage as appropriate. Conduct evaluations on direct report technologists.
Technologist duties:
  • Provide exceptional patient care.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with the Health Information Act.
  • Expertly and ergonomically operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to perform the requested procedures in a RIS/PACS environment, following CAMRT and ACMDTT standards and practice, and in adherence with their Code of Ethics.
  • Provide clear instruction for positioning the patient appropriately for the exam, minimizing patient discomfort.
  • Diligently keep imaging equipment clean and in good working condition; malfunctions are reported to the appropriate point of escalation.
  • Comply with all CDC policies, procedures, and protocols. Validate the patient requisition form is complete and matches exam booked in RIS.
  • Adhere to the Quality Assurance program ensuring regular equipment maintenance. Effectively operate and troubleshoot accessory equipment. Ensure high-quality standards of imaging and safety.
  • Ensure room is prepared and disinfected for each patient.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff, other technologists, patients, students, and Radiologists to deliver the best patient care with respect to scheduling and coordination of exams.
  • Orientate and train new staff, and/or NMT program students and complete competency evaluations, as required.
What you bring to CDC:
  • Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) from an accredited College or University, and comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures and practices.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologists must be registered and in good standing with CAMRT and ACMDTT; and comply with practice standards set by ACMDTT and other regulatory bodies and legislation.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine diagnostic imaging.
  • CPR certification and IV certification are required.
  • Must meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) training and/or experience. If RSO certification/ experience is lacking, CDC will sponsor training to ensure compliance.
  • Carry out job duties safely and proficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to manage numerous tasks, sometimes under pressure/in emergency situations.
  • Computer proficiency: particularly experience with InteleRIS, PACS, Netcare is preferred.
  • Ability to work extremely well independently, with self-directed, intrinsic motivation. Interaction with others within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19
