Position DescriptionArea: PsychiatryDuration: 1 Year (possibility of extension)Start Date: September 1, 2022Salary: 65,000 + benefitsThe Department of Psychiatry in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Knowledge Translation.As part of a Public Health Agency of Canada funded project, we are hiring a post-doctoral fellow to support the development of national clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of mental health disorders in older adults. In particular, the guideline under development will address the assessment and management behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. Our objectives for these guidelines are to provide practical and evidence-based recommendations to guide clinicians across Canada in providing high quality mental health care to older adults. In this role you will work closely with a project co-ordinator, with a working group consisting of seniors mental health researchers and clinicians, with project partners, advisors, and external experts, and under the supervision of Dr. Seitz. The Postdoctoral scholar will be involved in the design of studies, study management (research ethics and compliance procedures), analysis of studies using observational and biostatistical methods, and knowledge translation activities related to research outputs including presentations and preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications. The postdoctoral scholar will also take a lead role in communicating and coordinating with other trainees, researchers and members of the research staff. There will be opportunities for continuing education as part of the Postdoctoral scholar position. The position is available to any suitable candidates located in Calgary. The start date for the position is September 1, 2022 and the duration of the position is for one year with the possibility of a 6 - 12 month extension depending on performance and funding. The post-doctoral scholar will be supervised by Dr. Dallas Seitz at the University of Calgary.Qualifications:
