Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.As a Professional Development and Wellness Coordinator, you will act as a consultant to all Leaders and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) with Calgary Housing Company (CHC) to lead the analysis, design, development, evaluation and implementation of Professional Development and Wellness strategies which align with key deliverables. Primary duties include:

  • Develop, implement and monitor a Professional Development strategy and framework, including assessments, learning plans and matrixes, professional designations and memberships.
  • Lead and facilitate sessions to conduct needs assessments, develop long term learning plans, and implement a sustainment plan with a structured change management approach.
  • Identify, research and analyze industry and public sector issues, best practices and trends and communicate these to relevant partners.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by preparing business cases in support of specific learning and development opportunities and ensuring learning opportunities integrate/align with the strategic plan and other corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure training programs meet regulatory and legislated requirements.
  • Develop, execute and monitor the Healthy Workplace Plan and lead identified programs and projects in health, safety and wellness.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of new and existing programs, policies, performance and resources to evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions delivered.
  • Recommend technologies, tools, training and materials that improve the efficiency of training programs and services.
  • Define, measure and evaluate change readiness via partnership engagement and offer sustainable solutions to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills and capabilities to achieve CHC’s operational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Balance learning needs against the budget and prioritize requests for memberships, training and conferences.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Commerce, Human Resources, Education or a related discipline and at least 8 years of experience assessing needs and developing, implementing and sustaining learning and development programs and/or initiatives.
  • Change management certification and experience leading and implementing effective change management initiatives is required.
  • Designation as a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) is preferred.
  • Project management certification and experience leading and managing projects will be considered an asset.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using eLearning authoring tools (for example Articulate Storyline/ Adobe Captivate) will be an asset.
  • Experience with adult education learning techniques, business strategy and program implementation and knowledge of housing, non-profit or vulnerable serving sector will also be assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact, engage and influence a variety of partners/contributors, combined with strong conflict resolution and organizational skills.
