Job Description

ClearBakk is a mid-sized Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management (EPCM/EPF) firm providing services to the industrial sector with a focus on water and treatment technologies. We specialize in facility design from concept to construction, implementation, and commissioning as well as after delivery support. Our clients include several of the largest O&G producers in Canada to small Development Corporations for off grid infrastructure.We are currently looking to add and experienced multidiscipline Project Controls Specialist to our growing team.The successful candidate will be responsible for both project scheduling and cost control activities and play a key role in working closely with our design and engineering teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.   • Control project costs including planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting the project’s budget
  • Develop and maintain project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for control and integrity
  • Create, monitor, and analyze project schedules and prepare project progress reports in accordance with best project practices
  • Ensure accuracy of project schedules and version control
  • Monitor project progress, including identifying delays, critical activities, and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date
  • Track, analyze, and report information to allow project teams to manage their projects and evaluate weekly reports
  • Consult and collaborate closely with project teams including managers, engineering leads, and project engineers to set up activities, relationships, and resource assignments
  • Maintain project risk register to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget of projects
  • Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional departments to identify project issues and work with the project manager to ensure resolution
  • Assist and support in the development of project budgets in accordance with the Basis of Estimate
  • Prepare cost reports, cost spend profiles, forecasts and/or cost/cash flows
  • Analyze variances between planned vs. actual vs. forecast costs, cost performance, and contingency plan
  • Support the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting on cost impact of project manpower forecasts
  • Assist in the development of project change orders/variations in accordance with engineering and construction change notifications
  • Participate in the project cost close-out process
  • Participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in finance, engineering or related field such as industrial engineering, accounting, or finance
  • Knowledge in Total Cost Management Concepts & Terminologies
  • Profound knowledge in Budget allocation and Cost Baseline
  • Cost performance analysis; variation detection and report; recovery plan development
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Primavera, and MS Project
  • Excellent skills in MS excel, Power Query or Power BI
  • Detail oriented
  • PMP certification
