Job Description

America Fujikura Limited (AFL) is looking for a dynamic Junior Project Manager to support projects for our MxU team (Multi Dwelling Unit).If you are customer focus with strong project management and technical skills this role is for you!HERES THE IMPACT YOULL MAKE AND WHAT WELL ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER:As a Junior Project Manager with our MxU team, you are responsible for the overall direction, management, and delivery of MxU services projects.Each day, this multi-faceted opportunity will keep you busy with value-add activities including:

  • Plan, schedule and track inventory/material timelines and milestones using the appropriate tools.
  • Responsible for project budgets and forecasting for assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project scopes, goals and deliverables that support program goals. Stakeholders include Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Contractors, external client and internal departments such as Finance and Materials.
  • Manage deliverables as per Statement of Work and ensure that they comply with established quality standards.
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones for 30/60/90 day builds.
  • Review quotes from suppliers and complete monthly reports on cost comparisons
  • Review drawings to ensure quality assurance standards are aligned and met and assess materials needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Visit job sites if and when required to ensure project specifications are met
  • Identify opportunities for business operational improvement and effectively applies project management standards to internal requirements
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes to support business needs
HERE’S WHAT SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Confident Presenter with ability to explain monthly variances and the financial impacts of business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to build strong relationships and influence others, at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks.
  • Able to manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of work experience as a Project Manager in Telecommunication with supervisory experience an asset.
  • Project Management/PMP is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel (intermediate – advanced), Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fibre Optic materials, products and applications.
  • Ability to track financials related to ordering, receiving and forecasting inventory.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Capacity to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions to non-routine tasks or queries.
  • Established understanding of contract administration, financial budget management and business principals
Work Location:
  • Either in Surrey, British Columbia or Calgary, AB
Working Condition:
  • Normal office environment
  • General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional weekend or longer hours (particularly during month-end close)
  • Travel may be required
