Job Description

ClearBakk is a mid sized Project Services firm providing complete EPCM services including Project Management, Feasibility Studies, Full Service Engineering, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction Management, Commissioning & Start-up and Operations Maintenance Support. Our clients include several of the largest O&G producers in Canada to small Development Corporations for off grid infrastructure.We are currently looking to add an experienced Project Manager to our team. The Candidate will provide project management to promote the successful execution of projects with a focus on cost efficiency, constructability and schedule, and quality.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide Project Management and leadership in a professional and organized manner for total project effort including project schedule development; participation in construction planning and design; resolution of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc. The Project Manager’s duties and responsibilities include ensuring teams meet all scope requirements in according to their contract or agreement with the client.

  • Safe, environmentally responsible, timely and on-budget delivery of projects
  • Project Initiation and upfront planning activities to establish clear project requirements and goals throughout the execution, monitoring and closeout.
  • Develop detailed project execution plan, update, track, and manage progress
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility and constructability
  • Ensure Project Management activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall project schedule
  • Developing and managing WBS, CBS and project cost reporting (Earned Value Management)
  • Interface with all engineering departments/disciplines as required in the establishment of project schedules and resolving schedule problems
  • Develop a project schedule that coordinates all activities and resources required to complete the contract.
  • Institute project control procedures to facilitate the monitoring of progress and productivity of all activities and the preparation of performance reports.
  • Monitor all changes to the Contract scope and properly document and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, prepare change orders and follow up with clients
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques and adjust project activities accordingly
  • Arrange for all progress claims and documentation required under the Contract to be prepared in a timely and professional manner.
  • Schedule management, cost management for the project
  • Establish, maintain, and manage the relationship with clients and all stakeholders
  • Interfacing with Clients for proactive dialogue/management around cost, schedule, scope, and issue resolution
  • Contribute to tender submissions and review all bid documentation including bid estimate.
  • Developing proposals and estimates.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Report and escalate matters that require management attention or intervention on a timely basis if needed to ensure projects are not in jeopardy
  • Meeting facilitation with all project stakeholders and stakeholder management
QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate required
Experience:
  • 15+ years’ experience in engineering and construction projects, that includes design, fabrication installation, hook-up, commissioning, and hand over processes
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience as a Project Manager
  • Prior experience with the management of construction or installation projects, budgeting, and consultants, contractors, or vendors is an asset
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, etc such as API650, ASME B31.3, CEC
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Superior project management and leadership skills
  • Must have excellent English oral, written and communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers internal team, stakeholders and clients proactively
  • Excellent client-facing and internal interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to be diplomatic and persuasive to internal and external stakeholders
  • Good planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage equipment fabrication projects and interpret drawings and plans
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to negotiate with consultants and contractors and to resolve conflicts between parties involved in project implementation
  • Working knowledge of procurement practices including contract tenders, specification preparation, bidding, etc. is an asset
  • Proficient in the use of common MS office software, including MS Project and Primavera
  • Proficient with MS excel skills including pivot table
  • Knowledge of general safety and safe work practices
  • Ability to travel to field locations as required and maintain
  • Class 5 driver license in good standing
