This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting and kneeling. A solid knowledge base in the operation of various types of equipment is necessary for this position. The successful candidate must be adaptive to changing priorities, have a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Previous experience pulling up to 48 wheelers and winch truck capabilities are essential to this position. A current drivers abstract must be provided prior to hiring.Job Overview and Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily logs as required, perform trip inspection on equipment operated and loaded ensuring safety and road worthiness, other paperwork as necessary
  • Obtaining permits as required
  • Responsible for securing load, conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Report any mechanical deficiencies to appropriate department
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers hours, and occupational healthamp; safety
  • Comply with Border Paving Ltd. safe working procedures and practices
  • Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekend and out of town work as required during the construction season (May - November)
  • Other duties as required
