This position requires a detail orientated and safety conscious individual who can work independently and as part of a team. A minimum Class 5 license is required, along with certification or apprenticeship status as a Heavy Equipment TechnicianJob Overview and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair truck and trailer combinations, as well as off road equipment including compactors, dozers, excavators, graders, loaders and paving machinery
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance, mechanical overhauls, and testing of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Perform work both in shop and in the field, including service truck duties that may involve overnight travel
  • Contribute to technical and field support as needed
  • Maintain a flexible schedule with availability for overtime and weekend work during the construction season (May-November)
  • Uphold safety stands and work efficiently and cost effectively
  • Carry out additional duties as required
Qualifications
  • Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) certification, Red Seal endorsement, or enrollment as a minimum 3rd-year apprentice
  • Own set of tools
  • Basic welding skills (certification considered an asset)
  • Valid Class 5 license with a clean driving record (Class 1 license an asset)
  • CVIP certification considered an asset
  • Physically fit with as strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
