Job Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, this role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards of quality. The successful candidate will be experienced in asphalt paving and equipment operation, and thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience operating paving and construction equipment (e.g., pavers, rollers)
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt paving processes and road construction
  • Ability to read plans/blueprints and calculate material needs
  • Supervisory experience in a construction or heavy civil work
  • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Valid Class 5 Driver #39;s License (required)
  • Safety-focused with strong communication and leadership skills
  • Physically fit and capable of performing labour intensive tasks
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as required during construction season (May-November)
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and work alongside crew members to complete daily paving activities
  • Operate heavy equipment as required to support project completion
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Calculate material requirements and coordinate equipment
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, complete hazard assessments and reports
  • Train and mentor crew on equipment use and paving techniques
  • Maintain daily records (timesheets, equipment, materials)
  • Communicate and collaborate with Project Managers and subcontractors to meet project requirements
  • Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner when interacting with the public
