We are a 164 room hotel and Conference Centre, and are looking for a superstar to oversea the day to day running of our Banquet department.This is a hands on - operational manager who has the ability to multi task. Strong communication and organization skills required.Reporting to the Manager of Food & Beverage.Duties include;Mandatory attendance at BEO meetings and Pre-Con meetings.· Checking emails on a regular basis and responding in a timely manner.· Owning the BEO orders including Banquet schedule, ordering Banquet liquor to F&B Manager, ordering of pop and juice from Pepsi.· Monitoring all other Banquet supplies including coffee, tea, sugar, note pads, pens, etc., placing orders and making sure they arrive in a timely manner· Organize, direct, motivate, evaluate (performance reviews), develop (training manual for Banquets), recruit, and train Banquet team members holding banquet employees responsible for proper set up/take down, furniture away and cleanliness.· Ensuring team is set up for success on days off. Checking that first and last Supervisor/Manager on shift is checking all function rooms.· Complete responsibility of monitoring linen/tableware supply and being accountable for returning when running too high or too low.· Assist in beverage inventory counts and control measures including coding of orders in absence of F&B Manager.· Ensure health and safety practices and WCB regulations are taught and followed.· Assist with Payroll timesheet approval in F&B Manager absence.· Change logs – updating/altering. Changing schedule when required· Group billing – have back up during absences, responsible for making sure consumption is completed/posted and sent to Controller, CSM within 24 hours of event.· Organization of Banquet space-every item has a home-holding the team accountable to return items to homes after use.· Manage and rearrange the schedule to account for sick/no show employees making sure to communicate to the team. Making sure there is adequate coverage.· First day orientation and paperwork submission in timely manner for HR.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $42,000.00-$45,000.00 per yearBenefits:
