Safeway Canmore is hiring for a part or full time Cake Decorator to join our exciting and dynamic team. This individual will work closely with the rest of the bakery production and sales teams, under the supervision and guidance of the Bakery Manager; to provide outstanding customer service to all. The candidate will use and follow Company recipes, standard operating procedures and playbooks to create cakes, patisseries, and sweet goods as well as support customer requests and take specialty orders as appropriate. Physical dexterity is important for this role and the candidate will be expected to be able to lift up to 50lbs; and fulfill related merchandising, date checking, food safety and sanitation duties. Job Description

• Responsible for superior service goals of the department

• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner

• Icing, finishing, personalizing and decorating specialty bakery product

• Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met; including cleanliness and sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signing, seasonal schematic, and proper backroom procedures

• Ensure the department has the highest quality of product available for the customer

• Monitor to ensure variety standards are followed, as well as 100% compliance on ad item display

• Ability to learn quickly

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Highly motivated and team oriented

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form

• Possess strong customer service qualities

• Works in a safe and responsible manner

• Available to work flexible hours

• Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged

• Must be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)

Physical Requirements (Seldom: Not Daily, Rare: 0-5% of shift, Occasional: 6-33% of shift, Frequent: 34-66% of shift, Constant: 66-100% of shift)

• Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds

• Constant hand coordination, reaching, gripping

• Frequent standing, walking, bending

• Occasional lifting or carrying of between 10-45 lbs including waist level and low level lifts

• Occasional climbing (step ladder, stairs), squatting, pushing or pulling
