Our climbing gym technicians enrich the community as part of an energetic, diverse and dedicated climbing team committed to promoting the sport and culture of climbing in our community.Position Overview: Working directly out of Elevation Place, as a Climbing Gym technician, you will have the opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring that clients are comfortable, energized and engage within the climbing gym. As our core full-time staff, you will be the face of the climbing gym and take a leadership role in the facility with both clients and staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of the facility in many capacities such as; welcoming new customers, providing orientations, issuing rental equipment, performing belay tests, general wall maintenance tasks and supervising the climbing gym floor. In addition, you will have the opportunity to further develop your administrative skills as you take on some basic administrative functions and projects, as well as support operational planning for the gym. You are a friendly, confident and demonstrated team player who thrives on learning new things, demonstrates leadership and above all, loves climbing and wants to develop that love in others. You have the ability to prioritize, work under pressure, multi-task and possess strong leadership, administrative and communication skills. 1-2 years previous experience in a climbing gym environment, route setting, ACMG climbing Gym Instructor (Level 1, 2 or 3) and standard first aid is required. Significant recreational and professional climbing experience, will help you to be successful in this role.Perks and benefits: This is a full-time, permanent position offering 40 hours per week.
