No commuting!About UsCASP’s ultimate purpose is to reduce the suicide rate and minimize the harmful consequences of suicide-related behaviour through advocacy, communication, and education. We are a virtual organization with our employees working as part of a dispersed team across Canada.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and effective professional with a passion for suicide prevention to join our team. This role will report to the Executive Director and address the fundraising, multimedia, and communication needs of CASP. Goals will be to increase awareness about suicide prevention, increase donations and increase event attendance by strategically using multimedia.This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join a growing nonprofit organization in a life-saving mission of advocacy, awareness, and meaningful action for all Canadians in suicide prevention.Hours of Work: Permanent, full-time, 7 hours per day (daytime hours) 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Attend our annual conference within Canada.Compensation$56,000 per year. Health & dental benefits, vacation, mental health days, paid time off between Christmas and New Year’s.Work from home and save on gas, parking, clothes, and eating out.Start Date - ASAPKey Responsibilities Fundraising & Marketing

  • Develop, execute, and maintain an annual fund development and multimedia strategy with initiatives to reach the various target audiences through appropriate channels (e-newsletters, web, and all social media sites).
  • Develop appropriate metrics for social media channels and e-newsletters, to determine impact and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns.
  • Write clear, compelling copy for various mediums and publications such as annual reports, press releases, social media, and e-newsletters that align with our mandate, advocacy strategy, and policies.
  • Manage all digital and fundraising campaigns (setting up, scheduling, setting key performance indicators, writing copy, securing visuals, monitoring).
  • Relationship building with potential and existing donors, businesses, and event sponsors to increase donations and sponsorships. Ensure all donors and sponsors receive appropriate recognition and gratitude.
  • Increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity’s aims and activities and applying for grants.
  • Support third party fundraisers ensuring events align with our mission and do not support avenues that lead to suicide (ie. Gambling) and ensure all fundraising comply with CRA rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Community Education & Engagement Coordinator to create new educational content for the website.
  • Ensure adherence of all communications materials to Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, CASP Privacy Policy, and other communication regulations.
  • Lead the volunteer advisory groups focused on fundraising and marketing.
  • Attend the annual conference each year to meet current sponsors and attract new sponsors and donors. The conference is held in a different Canadian province or territory each year and can be 3-6 days long. Next one will potentially be held in May 2023.
  • Learn the Canada Helps platform to run reports and manage donor engagement.
  • Learn and understand the Canada Revenue Agency charity regulations for donations, tax receipting, sponsorships and keep apprised of changes.
REQUIRED Qualifications:
  • Currently, permanently residing in Canada and currently legally eligible to work in Canada. (We do not sponsor candidates).
  • Minimum of one year of fundraising experience with positive results increasing donations and sponsorships.
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in creating multimedia (social media, digital marketing, content writing) to increase donor engagement, advocacy, and event attendance.
  • Education focused on content writing, social media, communications, fundraising, or digital marketing.
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency with all social media and latest digital marketing applications.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English. Canadian French is an asset, but not required.
  • Ability to travel to attend the annual CASP conference each year. Can be up to 6 days long, within Canada, travel expenses covered by CASP.
  • Proficient with business software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and remote working tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must be comfortable with discussions about suicide and bereavement to address any comments on social media (training is provided).

  • Superior organizational skills, problem solving, planning, and the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Home office with reliable computer, stable and unlimited internet connection, webcam, secure, distraction-free, ergonomic environment in which to work. (Equipment and furniture are not provided or reimbursed.)
  • Must be able to manage their time, be self-directed and work independently to achieve work goals without supervision.
  • As part of your reference check, you will need to pass a criminal record check.
Assets:
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) is an asset.
  • Experience with Canada Helps donation platform.
  • Experience using and administering donor management platforms, analyzing donor information, and creating reports.
