Job Description

Position Title: Guest Services AgentPrimary Objective of PositionTo maximize customer satisfaction by welcoming guests upon arrival and ensuring they have the best service possible during their stay.Essential Functions - Tasks 80%

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
  • Register guests into the computer, verifying reservation, address, and credit information.
  • Accept payment for guests’ accounts both at the time of registration and at checkout.
  • Promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints
  • Answer telephone promptly and properly being polite, courteous, and friendly
  • Be friendly, thorough, accurate and efficient in taking reservations
  • Be friendly, thorough, accurate and efficient in performing Check-ins and Check-outs
  • Use the guests’ names
  • Be knowledgeable and helpful about the local area, the hotel and hotel services
  • Handle messages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes properly
  • Know of incoming VIPs
  • Follow all applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform other assignments as directed primarily by the Front Office Manager, however, other tasks may be assigned by the Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company including, but not limited to those contained in the associate handbook.

Education and Experience
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum of three years customer service experience
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Administrative 10%The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities.
Other Job Requirements
  • All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per company standards
  • Regular attendance in conformity with company standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
  • Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the company’s rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel facilities. Associates who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
