Job Description

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Loans Associate will carry out a variety of functions to support credit operations with all lending services activities. The skills will be acquired to become proficient in end-to-end process from initial member contact to loan completion. The Loans Associate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and a sterling approach to member service. A valued member of the team, this position is geared to learn and develop into a BVCU Account Manager.Big Picture for this Role

  • Member Experience:
  • create a positive first impression and model exceptional service delivery at every member interaction to foster the member relationship
  • Credit Activities:
  • responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the wide range of lending functions and processing activities, including ongoing member and third-party communication through the loan process, and proactively developing relationships
  • assist in the preparation of new retail loan applications, including processing, packaging, and underwriting with guidance
  • support the full life cycle of credit file maintenance including loan set up, advances, payouts, processing, and fundings
  • learn the life cycle for members from a credit perspective and identify additional opportunities with members at any point of a member’s financial cycle
  • help ensure all loan compliance activities are completed, including support loan file audits, legislative and regulatory requirements, and reporting
  • Teamwork:
  • support and collaborate with the branch and be willing to lend a hand in the full spectrum of branch activities, including account openings

  • Proven computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office
  • Must be bondable and a criminal and credit record check is required
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis
