Job Description

POSITION: Pub ManagerThe Grizzly Paw is a craft brewery and hospitality company located in Canmore, AB at the heart of the Canadian Rockies since 1996. We are fiercely committed to our guests, colleagues, community and environment by crafting fresh food, a dynamic beer selection, locally made soda and engaging experiences.Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Pub Manager is an active member of the senior leadership team of the company. The successful candidate will be dynamic, creative, resourceful, results driven and passionate about the hospitality industry. We are looking for an outgoing and knowledgeable leader who is willing to learn and ready to provide our colleagues and customers with memorable experiences!RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the success of the pub, retail shop and kitchen operations
  • Lead the pub team towards excellent customer service, colleague retention and company profitability for the best interest of the brand
  • Role model for professionalism and ambassador for the brand at all times
  • Ensure daily operational task lists and SOPs are adhered to and in place for all areas
  • Oversee the ongoing execution of creative food and beverage menus and service standards for all aspects of the operation
  • Development and implementation of innovative promotional events for both the pub and retail shop
  • Ensure effective colleague recruitment, training and development strategies are in place for all employees and leaders
  • Ensure the pub is compliant with all AGLC and AHS licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that monthly financial goals including inventories, revenue, expenses and productivity are accurate and on target
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and capital plans
  • Contribute to the continued development of the company-wide strategic plans
  • Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments
  • Follow health, safety, prevention and sanitation guidelines at all time
  • Consider the environmental impact in all decisions
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a food & beverage environment with a broad operational knowledge including both front and back of house.
  • Strong culinary and beverage knowledge required specifically surrounding craft beer
  • Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline a strong asset
  • Knowledge of financial statements analysis
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of social media platforms required
  • Innovative, creative and willing to take risks
  • Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities
