Job Description

OUR OFFER

  • For the right candidate, we will accommodate your training for an AB class 2 drivers license
  • C$ 20.00/hour
  • Overtime is any time over 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week (whichever works in your favour) at C$30.00/hour overtime
  • Vacation pay (4%) at the end of the season
  • Expected hours per day: 9.75 hours
  • Expected average wage per day C$ 212.50 (this is not yet including vacation pay)
  • Consistent work with 5-6 expected days per week between early May and Mid-September
  • Well try our hardest to work with your schedule, so you have time for the other things that matter in your life

WHAT WE DOWe offer half-day commercial white water rafting trips on the Kananaskis River (our fun and splashy family trip) and the Horseshoe Canyon (our adventure trip) between Banff and Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Our guests are driven in school buses from our base at Nakoda Lakeside Lodge to the river and back.Our Drivers and Trip Assistants do so much more than just drive. You’ll be an integral member of the team with responsibilities as diverse as offering info about the local area to our guests, prepping for the trip, explaining our waiver form, assisting with organization at the base, handing out gear, being a smiling, friendly face for our guests, safe operation of our fleet of buses and vans and much more.At Chinook Rafting, we keep raising our own bar on customer service, and we work in a proactive and positive team.REQUIREMENTS
  • Alberta Class 5 drivers license with 3 years of experience
  • Clean driving record with a commercial driver abstract
  • Minimum 2-day first aid course with CPR "C"
  • Available (full-time) for the summer season (May – September)
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
ASSETS
  • Alberta Class 4 drivers license
  • Wilderness first aid (40hr course)
  • Interest in photography & tour guiding
  • Experience in the tourism industry
