Job Description

This job is full-time in our Canmore warehouse - remote work is not available.What You’ll Do:As our Operations Specialist you will support the Operations Team by fulfilling the van and trailer inventory & maintenance needs for Canada. You will provide outstanding support and service to all Field Staff so that they can provide Backroads’ guests with an exceptional travel experience.Specific tasks include:

  • Assist in extensive winter re-working of trailer interiors & exteriors (winter overhaul of trailer chassis including the hubs, brakes, electrical systems, and roof)
  • Provide supervision and consistency for Field Staff on the warehouse floor during the spring departure season and the fall return/overhaul period
  • Assist in the receiving & preparation and then tear-down & return of rented vans
  • Ensure trailer inventories are accurate and complete, both pre-departure and at the end of season
  • Assist in the administering of a warehouse traffic schedule, moving vehicles, keeping traffic corridors clear
  • Assist in bicycle rack and tray construction & repair
  • Assist Operations Coordinator in maintaining and acquiring needed inventory supplies
  • Assist in the packing & shipping of equipment for international distribution
  • Assist with facility issues and improvements as needed
  • Assist in the supervision and security of all Backroads tools, supplies, trailers, vans, and facilities
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the storage and departure areas

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic vehicle maintenance
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and the ability to fabricate simple constructions
  • Experience with driving vans, maneuvering a trailer and forklift, and light welding experience preferred
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Must be detail oriented, self-starter, good problem solver and a motivated individual
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
  • Willingness to handle varied tasks and changing responsibilities
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Clean driving record
