Job Description

Are you motivated, personable, friendly, hardworking and like working outdoors Guiding could be the right job for you; spending your summer on the rivers in the Canadian Rockies.Canadian Rockies Rafting are looking to hire full-time Raft/Interpretive Guides for the summer of 2022.Canadian Rockies Rafting has been providing the Bow Valley with whitewater adventures for over 25 years. We offer a range of activities on local rivers to keep every level of adventurer entertained!Requirements

  • Employee is responsible for providing their own gear including; minimum 3mm wetsuit, helmet, PFD, whistle, river knife, quick release waist throw bag (minimum length 15m), flip line, appropriate river foot wear and river watch. (Discounts on gear can be accessed through the company)
  • Standard first aid course (minimum 20 hours) & CPR certification, 40- 80 hours preferred. (Current, require copy of certification)
  • Guide license(s) or equivalent with proof of experience
  • Swift Water Rescue certification. (willingness to attain before the start of the season)
  • Prior emergency care or adventure guiding experience an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Attend staff training and complete required Familiarization Tours
  • Working mobile phone with Canadian phone number
Preference will be given to those who have;
  • River running skills; preferably raft guide experience in running rafting float tours and whitewater river rafting tours on Grade 3 or higher rivers.
  • Experience driving with a trailer
  • Class 4 licence
  • Interpretive guiding certification or experience
DutiesThe following duties and responsibilities shall be performed and fulfilled by the employee including the following but, not limited to:
  • Competently guides rafts on all rivers rafted by Canadian Rockies Rafting
  • Provide a fun and safe experience for all clients
  • Maintain all river gear and equipment ensuring everything is up to standard set out by Canadian Rockies Rafting
  • Will conduct themselves in a professional manner to ensure a high standard of customer service
  • Employee is responsible for maintain professional appearance including self and personal equipment
  • Employee will ensure to follow Code of Conduct set forth by Canadian Rockies Rafting
Contract Length: 5 monthsExpected start date: 2022-05-09Job Types: Full-time, SeasonalSalary: $17.00-$22.00 per hourAdditional pay:

COVID-19 considerations:Covid-19 will no doubt affect our 2022 season in some way, we successfully operated in the Summer of 2020 & 2021. We will be following the provincial guidelines but dont know what they will be until we get closer to the start of the season.Application question(s):
