If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.Research Associate - Carman, MBThe primary responsibilities of this role, Field Research Associate, are to:The Research Associate will primarily be responsible for supporting the field nursery and seed processing activities of the Site Lead while partnering with the on-site Agronomic Research Specialists. This position is located in Carman, Manitoba and is a 12-month term contract.What you will do:

  • Assist in all phases of the canola, corn and soybean field nursery seed production program including equipment preparation, planting, spraying, field maintenance, agronomic note collection, harvest and seed processing
  • Provide multi-disciplinary and seasonal support to soybean seed production and purity operations including harvest activities, seed cleaning, treating, packaging, shipping and data capture as well as canola yield trial processing and packaging operations
  • Supervision of temporary contract employees performing seed processing or field harvesting operations
  • Actively participate in the site safety and quality management programs
  • Maintain equipment and facilities for safe and effective operation
Who you are:Your success will be driven by your demonstrations of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possess the following:Required Skills/Experience:
  • Diploma or BSc in Agriculture or related field
  • Familiarity with field research methodologies
  • Knowledge of crop production, farming practices, and farm equipment operation and repair
  • Previous plot research and/or seed processing experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility to work OT if needed during processing, planting, spraying and harvest seasons
  • Valid driver’s license
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Manitoba Class 3 driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Provincial pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge of precision farming equipment and applications
