We are looking for a full time, permanent employee to join our team who will work with us to manage our cow/calf herd and maintain our over 8000 acres of grazing and pasture land.Summer duties will include grazing management, fencing, water development, calving, identifying and treating cattle with health problems, processing animals and haying. During the winter duties include feeding cattle and calves, managing delivery of feed commodities, monitoring animal health, identifying and treating sick animals, managing winter feeding/grazing for cowherd, and hauling bales. During the summer and fall months we also operate a custom baling operation, so the successful candidate will be required to run the baler (large squares) and other equipment including swather, hay rake, and hay trailers to stack and haul bales.Previous experience with beef cattle and operating farm equipment is an asset. Must also have a valid class 5 driver’s licence. The successful candidate must have the ability to work well with others or on their own, posses time management skills and have the ability to manage other workers when necessary. Long hours and physically demanding outdoor work are parts of this job. Typically during the summer months, employees work Monday to Friday with weekends off. During the winter, employees may work alternating weekends (typically only Saturday) and we ensure that workers have two days off in a row.We offer employees the opportunity to learn and develop their skills on the job, but insist that our team members are reliable, trustworthy and self motivated.Our operation is located near Minton, SK and require that the successful candidate live in, or re-locate to the area.
