Job Description

Title: Development Coordinator The Pacific Public Health Foundation (“Foundation”) is the only charitable foundation in BC actively fundraising for public health initiatives, with and in support of our partners throughout the province. Scope of PositionWe are looking for a Development Coordinator to support the implementation of the strategic plan to successfully grow our influence and impact as a public health charity. The primary focus of this role will be to execute and enhance fund development strategies and systems, and support work to raise the profile, reputation, and reach of the Pacific Public Health Foundation, and public health broadly, as well as collaborate on and implement programs that directly support the fundraising efforts of the Pacific Public Health Foundation Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, this role works in collaboration with the Senior Development Officer, and Communications and Finance/Operations teams.Overview of the Position: Fundraising:

  • Support and lead the development of the Annual Giving portfolio including monthly, tribute, third-party, and mid-level giving programs.
  • Support other fundraising portfolios as needed, including Major Gifts, Legacy Giving, and Community Giving.
  • Coordination of the Direct Response program including production of copy/creative, proofing and approvals, supplier liaise, list review, and compiling analytics.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including meeting briefings and agendas, recording donor activities in the donor database (DonorPerfect), and coordinating gift/donor proposals and agreements.
  • Assist with researching and identifying new prospects and donor opportunities.
  • Provide logistical support for donor events, community events, and other donor engagement activities, including preparation of invitations and follow-up materials.
Donor Relationsamp; Stewardship:
  • Database entry and administration in the donor database (DonorPerfect) ensuring data accuracy and integrity; updating donor and prospective donor contact and gift information; and adherence to privacy and data compliance.
  • Gift entry and coding include preparation of tax receipts/business acknowledgments, thank you letters, tribute-giving materials; and communication with donors by phone and email as needed.
  • Support the coordination and review of donor lists for Foundation initiatives occurring in all departments, including exports, approvals, data/report updates, and tracking.
  • Support stewardship initiatives including donor mailings, digital communications and newsletters, and the creation/development of stewardship materials.
  • Support community and/or fundraising events or activities as needed.
Communications and Operations:
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Operations Departments on donor-facing communications and plans including content development and support, execution of e-appeals, and shared inter-departmental tasks and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure consistency in procedures and data accuracy across donor databases and financial software systems.
  • Support the Communications Department, as needed.
General Administration:
  • Prepare regular reports and analytics for senior staff, as required;
  • Support general office administration including booking meetings, telephone/in-person inquiries, office upkeep, and back-up to team members, as required;
  • Other duties, as required.
Requirements:
  • Combination of training, education, and/or experience in fundraising and donor relations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to develop a positive rapport with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Proven experience with project management and ability to efficiently organize and manage diverse projects while meeting multiple deadlines, along with thorough attention to all details and consistent follow-through.
  • Experience with data entry/use of CRMs such as DonorPerfect.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with external consultants and contractors.
  • Comfort and experience discussing and advocating for social change and progressive initiatives.
  • Understanding public health, a health-related field, and/or public and community engagement is a strong asset.
  • Proven experience working in non-profit organizations is an asset.
  • An understanding of, and passion for, working in a small and dynamic growing charity is particularly key.
