This position can be based at any of our offices within Canada.Your role within the team:The selected person will have to carry out, work in a team, and/or supervise various types of studies in the fields of hydrology and hydraulics, such as:

  • Hydrological studies (hydrological modelling, statistical flood analysis, probable maximum precipitation and probable maximum flood analysis, flood routing).
  • Hydraulic analyses with 1D, 2D, and 3D simulation tools.
  • Design of hydraulic structures (culverts, ditches, spillways, stilling basins, temporary diversions, etc.).
  • Design of bank erosion protection and channel stabilization (riprap rock, gabions, articulated concrete mats, turf reinforcement mats, erosion blankets, etc.).
  • Flood hazard and hydrotechnical geo-hazard studies.
  • Flow accretion studies and flow measurements (e.g., salt dilution tracing, acoustic Doppler velocimeter, flume, etc.).
  • Stormwater management.
  • Dam safety review and dam failure analysis.
  • Wave studies and erosion protection.

The ideal candidate:
  • B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering, M.Eng. or M.A.Sc. in hydraulics or hydrology an asset.
  • Ideally, 5 or more years of experience as a Hydrological/ Hydraulic Engineer.
  • Member in good standing of a Canadian Engineering Order (or be eligible to become one).
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written), French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of analytical methods and tools in the field of hydrology and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of one or more HEC models (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
  • Knowledge of one or more 2D models (e.g., HEC-RAS 2D, FLO-2D, Telemac).
  • Knowledge of 3D models an asset (e.g., FLOW 3D, Delft 3D).
  • Experience in hydrotechnical design, stormwater management, flood hazard analysis, and dam safety studies an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
Compensation Range:Expected compensation for this role is between the range of $85,000 - $95,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role.
