Software engineering at Lumotive plays a critical role in our product development organization, both providing critical input to our system architecture definitions as well as delivering the control and processing solutions that translate raw data into accurate results which ultimately determine the performance capabilities of the final application.This role is part of our foundational engineering team and will have a direct impact on customer adoption of our reference designs. You should have a passion for creating software solutions to challenging new problems while working within the constraints of edge and embedded compute platforms.   • Architect, design, develop, document and verify high-quality software to accelerate the evolution of Lidar
  • Write clean, efficient and well-documented code in C/C++/Python languages.
  • Support the estimation and planning of new products and features.
  • Maintain code quality through best practices, code reviews, static analysis and testing.
  • Create innovative solutions to complex problems on time.
  • Review the software contributions of other team members.
  • Manage work effectively through collaborative issue tracking.
  • Execute fast-paced delivery with a customer-oriented focus on tasks that add value.
  • Evaluate technical choices based on trade-offs and facts.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining relevant design practices, processes and standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide support to Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Support teams to root cause software issues.
Qualifications
  • Master #39;s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Good knowledge of embedded protocols especially I2C and SPI.
  • Good knowledge of network development (sockets, TCP/IP).
  • Strong embedded programming experience in C / C++.
  • Strong scripting experience with Python / Bash.
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and bare metal programming.
  • Modern software development practices e.g. CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Experience developing for ARM processors.
  • Expertise in Source code version control.
  • Able to interpret and review schematics.
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with NXP Semiconductor platforms.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira).
  • Familiarity working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Familiarity with Embedded Linux Distributions (Yocto).
  • Familiarity with FPGA/ASIC/RTL/SoC design experience is an asset.
