For Life.Position: Regional Engagement AdvisorReports to: Head of Corporate Engagement and Manager of Church EngagementPosition Term: Full Time PermanentWorkplace Type: Remote (Must reside in Atlantic Canada)The Regional Engagement Advisor is externally focused on building mutually beneficial relationships with corporate and church leaders to support World Vision’s mission of working with people globally facing poverty and injustice. This role will build strong relationships and engagement opportunities that enable a two-way value exchange between Canadian corporations, churches, and World Vision; these relationships jointly contribute to the philanthropic and discipleship needs of corporate environments and congregations and directly benefits the children and communities World Vision serves.As an ambassador for World Vision’s vision and mission, the Regional Engagement Advisor will deploy best practice development strategies and a detailed moves management approach to cultivating a network of World Vision advocates. This role is responsible for executing the overall Philanthropy and Partnerships Engagement strategy, which primarily supports World Vision’s fundraising goals and will give input into other World Vision teams’ go-to-market strategy based on their audience expertise.Duties and Responsibilities:Corporate Engagement:

  • Helps to execute the Corporate Engagement Strategy to meet annually established fiscal goals and key performance metrics in corporate philanthropy, sponsorship (cash and gifts or services in kind), cause marketing, and other World Vision Canada offerings.
  • Actively owns and innovatively cultivates a portfolio of corporate customers in the $25K+ range and through various channels as defined but not limited to the corporate customer journey with the goal of growing revenue and engagement.
  • Grows corporate engagement and contributions by building deep and meaningful relationships and understanding key stakeholder’s and the corporation’s social impact and marketing interests and priorities, their resource capacity, their business and marketplace context, and aligns these interests and goals with those of World Vision.
  • Communicates effectively, meaningfully and in an individualized way with key stakeholders
  • Continually improves, develops and educates oneself and WVC staff and teams involved with corporate engagement to identify and implement best practices in pipeline management, research, qualifying, prospecting, cultivation, acquisition, fulfillment reporting and stewardship.
  • Proactively works with internal and external teams to research and qualify prospects and develops personalized donor acquisition strategies consistent with due diligence requirements, corporate engagement protocols, and risk management efforts within WVC and its offices around the globe.
  • Works closely with the Philanthropy Enablement Services to use customer data and insights to build plans for customer engagement and asks, and uses the Customer Relationship Management system to analyze and input data from corporate partners.
  • Collaborates with Philanthropy Enablement Services to build donor proposals and impact reports; presents the proposals to donors in the most compelling and effective manner.
  • Proactively identifies, pursues and cultivates prospects within the corporate segment through networking at events, leveraging business networks, and identifying Influencer(s) or coach(s) to help accelerate engagement with target prospects.
Church Engagement:
  • Develop strong relationships with key influential pastors and church leaders using a relational sales approach tracked in CRM to connect their interests with World Vision’s mission and ministry to the most vulnerable.
  • Utilize an advanced approach that will increase the number of engaged / highly engaged churches leading to increased funds for the field and more Canadians involved in transformational experiences through churches and parachurches.
  • Using relationship-building techniques and fundraising strategies, build strategic relationships with critical pastors and influential church leaders or congregation members.
  • Proactively and intentionally execute moves management techniques to meet personal, team and organizational fundraising objectives and key results.
  • Develop and implement mutually beneficial engagement plans between targeted churches and World Vision that meets both World Vision’s fundraising goals and the church’s ministry/discipleship goals.
  • Maintain relationships with pastors, Christian leaders, and their churches through all stages of opportunity development using a moves management from prospecting to stewardship approach.
  • Represent World Vision in the church and/or Christian communities through networking at conferences and/or public speaking/preaching to build awareness of World Vision’s mission and prospect for new church advocates of World Vision’s global work.
Qualifications preferred:Essential:
  • Bachelor’s in business, marketing, education or other relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in fundraising, business development and/or sales experience. Proven experience raising gifts over $25,000.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressing ministry leadership experience through a combination of church ministry, leadership experiences such as pastor, church employee, para-church leader, or highly engaged Christian lay leader (i.e. Church Board).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across a diverse, matrix operating environment and customer base as well as the ability to present materials in various settings.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales or fundraising performance metrics.
  • Experience in building partnering relationships and networking among senior leaders in churches and/or Christian organizations from various traditions and denominations.
  • Strategic thinker with developed ability to assess opportunities, connects ideas and people to develop strategic profitable engagements, assess risks, both situationally and regarding broader trends.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to align partner’s interests, needs and goals with that of WVC to achieve mutual gains.
  • Highly adept at managing multiple projects, tracking progress and providing clear reporting, and prioritizing among competing imperatives to work most effectively toward revenue goals.
  • Highly collaborative in a large organizational environment, with the ability to sensitively navigate within a diverse workplace and customer base.
  • Experience analyzing data, extrapolating insights from data and then actioning those insights to drive towards predefined outcomes.
  • Deep appreciation and respect for the diversity of Christian faith traditions and the ability to adapt personal approaches accordingly authentically.
  • Applicant MUST reside in Atlantic Canada.
Desirable:
  • Experience working with an international development or humanitarian organization
  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in theology or other related field or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual in French/English an asset
  • CFRE or pursuit of CFRE an asset
  • Solid understanding of CRA charitable tax compliance.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CRM systems and BI dashboards.
