Job Description

BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.BIOVECTRA has an opening for an Supply Chain Production Planner. This is a full-time position located in Charlottetown, PE.The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing all activities with respect to Production Planning and Scheduling.
  • Monitoring on a weekly basis all sales shipment(s) and resolving any scheduling conflicts as needed.
  • Formulating and recommending resolutions to over-capacity and late delivery situations.
  • Recommending the most efficient route to meet the product sale forecast and to develop a schedule that maximizes BIOVECTRAS capacity.
  • Sequencing and scheduling material orders, expediting where necessary, to support the production of products to meet customer order requirements.
  • Performing analysis to recommend the optimal production schedule of customer orders, with key inputs from the manufacturing Managers, Project managers and Sales.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with respect to the Bill of Materials (BOM) from batch records or as supplied by project managers(s).
  • Confirming manufacturing capacity before verifying availability of materials and scheduling.
  • Booking all production jobs against the schedule and orders. Includes package jobs to production and/or warehouse departments. Monitor and update job orders in the ERP system.
  • Setup BOM initial requisition of materials for new processed and projects.
  • Adhering to BIOVECTRAs Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • B.Sc, or other technical diploma supplemented with technical training at secondary level, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 plus years of planning and or project management experience with a minimum of 1 year working in an ERP environment.
  • Must be computer literate with past experience using ERP systems and spreadsheets.
  • APICS certification is an asset.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and personalities within and between departments.
