This role involves managing day-to-day facility operations, overseeing maintenance activities, and implementing best practices for a safe and productive work environment. This role will manage multiple buildings.Responsibilities in this role include:Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of building infrastructures including machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems.Assist in developing maintenance and replacement schedule for facilities.Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections, orientation of employees and contractors, and develop a Field Level Hazardous Assessment report to be done and attached to work order.Co-ordinate cleaning including exterior of the buildings.Respond to and coordinate corresponding repairs related to building maintenance requests from County building occupants and users for County facilities. Enhancements, upgrades, or direction outside maintenance shall be taken to supervisor.Plan maintenance by using work orders and PO for projects and purchasing and perform ad hoc maintenance as needed.Practice and promote responsible Health and Safety including but not limited to safe operation of equipment, use appropriate PPE, conduct Hazard Assessments, develop, and follow Safe Work Procedures, conduct worksite inspections, and site safety orientation of employee and contractors.Respond to and deal with building issues outside of standard office hours.Manage relationships with vendors and contractors for facility-related services.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and facilities.Completion of a college or university program in facility management or in a discipline related to facility operation and maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in facility maintenance or Journeyman Certification in a related tradeMinimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience managing multiple facilitiesBuilding Maintenance certificateKnowledge of Building Construction, Operation and MaintenanceKnowledge of maintenance programs and schedules and ability to see abnormalities and issues in the systemsAbility to work outside of standard office hours as needed and to respond to issues after hours – this position will be provided a phone and County vehicleValid Class 5 driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstractStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in using facility management software and Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of safety regulations and environmental guidelinesWhat We Offer:The County of Grande Prairie provides a competitive compensation package, including benefits, pension and vacation.
