Job Description

Job DescriptionThe County’s Information Systems team is looking for a GIS Analyst. Reporting to the Supervisor of Corporate GIS, GIS Analysts are responsible for supporting GIS applications, assisting in various projects, optimizing, and automating processes, and performing spatial/traditional data analysis, in conjunction with maintaining the corporate enterprise geodatabase.The GIS Analyst also researches, develops and maintains GIS solutions to support business operations throughout the organization as well as with external stakeholders including the collection and analysis of data, and mapping solutions.Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining online web mapping services and applications using ArcGIS Enterprise tools.
  • Developing data automations using FME, Python, SQL and other tools.
  • Performing GIS related duties as part of the Emergency Command Centre (ECC)
  • Developing and maintaining maps, apps, dashboards and reports.
  • Assist with developing and documenting workflows for GIS processes.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining data standards.
  • Assist with the administration of cloud-based applications, such as ArcGIS Online.
  • Designing and building solutions for business problems using ESRI products.
  • Adhering to organizational best practices and established standards.
  • Collecting, processing and maintaining spatial data
  • Provide training, advice and support to staff, Council and the public.
  • Other duties as required.
