Job Description

The successful candidate is expected to deliver BIOL 151: Biology of the Environment offered in a face-to-face delivery method. To view course descriptions and course outlines, go to the College webpage course descriptions and course outlinesQualifications: The successful candidate will have a Master #39;s Degree in Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent. A Bachelor #39;s Degree in Biology or Environmental Science is required. Preferred professional qualifications include research, work or volunteer experience on local environmental biology and ecology related projects in the East Kootenays.Preferred instructor qualifications include experience teaching in a post-secondary environment, incorporating work integrated learning into curriculum, and a demonstrated commitment to the diverse academic needs of students. As an employee of the College of the Rockies, the successful candidate is a lifelong learner who continues to develop their skills in both their subject matter discipline and teaching excellence to help the College meet the needs of our students and our other valued clients.Salary: Following the Faculty Salary Schedule and depending on qualifications, instructional and related work experience, the salary for Auxiliary employees is in a range from $44.89 to $60.26 per hour depending on qualifications and experience (includes 16% in lieu of vacation and benefits). The successful candidate will teach a 45-hour lecture and a 45-hour lab with an additional 67.5 marking/prep hours for a total of 157.5 paid hours.
