Horticultural SpecialistEastern Slopes Rangeland Seeds Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Horticultural specialist to become a lead grower for our nursery. This position involves hands on work within our native plant nursery outside of CremonaAlberta.Primary Responsibilities: The role will include being the assistant manager of the nursery including managing crews, taking inventory, inspections, setting up growing programs, deliveries of plants and client relations. In addition, the role will involve other work related to the nursery such as harvesting live stakes for bioengineering projects, seed collection, managing our breeder plot system, and cleaning seed. This is a physically demanding job that requires lifting, bending, crouching, and carrying objects in a greenhouse and outdoor environment. This position involves hands on work with close to 200 species of native plants with new species added annually to our growing program.This position will also allow for work within the environmental consulting industry for our sister companies TannasConservation Services Ltd. and GP Restoration Solutions Inc. ESRS is a dedicated native plant nursery focused on production of native species for the reclamation and landscaping industries across western Canada.The position will be multi-disciplinary and we can provide almost unlimited learning opportunities within the environmental industry.Qualifications:

• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and own a vehicle.
• Ability to pull trailers is an asset.
• Two (3) years of related experience in horticulture, growing plants, or working with native species.
• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science or Horticulture, but will consider those with experience.
• Strong communication and people skills
• Comfortable, competent, and effective working independently
• Organized and self-motivated Possible Areas of Work

• Skilled in weed identification and plant identification - Weed Management
