Intermediate Vegetation EcologistTannas Conservation Services is looking for a passionate vegetation ecologist who is an engaged, self-starter that prospers in a small team environment. This position will collaborate with colleagues to produce high-quality deliverables for our diverse clientele, with an emphasis on specialty services focused on conservation, restoration, and reclamation.The ideal candidate will a minimum of 4 years of experience in an ecology related field (e.g., wetland, rangeland, reclamation, environmental science), a related undergraduate or master’s degree, be interested in multi-disciplinary work, and be eligible for professional registration. Our busy 2022 field programs span various ecosystems throughout western Canada, primarily in wetland, vegetation ecology, rangeland, and reclamation disciplines. This position presents the unique opportunity to be on a team of environmental specialists, and the successful candidate will be provided the supports to continually grow and develop their career in the ecological field. This position requires the ability and desire to do field travel and field work.Skills will be evaluated at the interview stage and may include a written and plant ID component. The following knowledge and skills will be considered an asset: U of A range team, statistical analysis, GIS skills, Indigenous training and collaborations, proposal writing and budget development, grant writing, technical editing, regulatory permitting, rare plant surveys, ABWRET assessments, legislation knowledge (e.g., Wetland Policy), range and riparian health assessments.Requirements:
