Job Description

Accounting AssistantFull Time, Contract Position, 12-15 MonthsBridgeview Marine Group$22 - $25 per hour, depending on experienceWho we areBridgeview Marine is proud to provide customers throughout Delta, Surrey, Vancouver, Sandspit, Prince Rupert, and the surrounding areas with a wide range of aluminum boats and outboard motors, as well as other boat parts and accessories. Our marine parts and services work to exceed the high expectations of our customers and to provide them with the very best for life on the water.Who are youOur ideal candidate will have previous accounting and office experience. The job requires an independent worker with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage time. We are looking for a team player that has a proven background of working well with others.A day in the life

  • Approve and enter accounts payable
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Reconcile credit card statements
  • Reconcile and post daily cash and accounts receivable transactions
  • Process customer A/R statements as directed
  • Maintain office filing
  • Reconcile and update employee files as necessary
  • Assist Controller with other duties and projects as required
Must have skills, competencies, and attributes
  • Diploma or Certification in Accounting or Bookkeeping is an asset but not required
  • 2 years’ experience in accounting and office administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Accurate data entry skills, excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
