Completion of Level I of thePurchasing Management Association of Canadas Certified Professional Purchaser accreditation program. Completion of office administration program/courses equivalent to 8 months training including basic accounting and computer application courses.Two years recent purchasing experience with involvement in competitive tendering practices including selecting competitive process, preparation of documents, invitations, bid handling, analysis, award, and maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a public setting.Some knowledge of purchasing practices, procurement law, legislation, and trends specific to public sector procurement agency.Advanced skills using standard office software applications including internet sourcing, spreadsheets, and word processing platforms.Demonstrates sound judgement in determining priorities and effectively organizing work to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Able to multitask continuously as priorities shift. Able to work independently and take initiative.Physically able to perform the duties of the position. Able to operate a variety of office equipment.Knowledgeable of WCB and WHMIS regulations.
