Review requirements of company to determine quantity and type of materials to purchase. Assess requirements of the company and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased. Select the materials and supplies which best fits the company’s requirements. Interview suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements. Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations. Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems. Negotiate and maintain the international supply chain. Verify certifications for ingredients. Locate new suppliers and establish new logistical routes. Establish and maintain contact with suppliers.RequirementsA university degree or college diploma in business, marketing or a related program is required. Knowledge and experience in logistics, international shipping and customs clearance.
